In 2025, Central Europe is emerging as a new nerve center for regulated labor mobility in Europe. Countries like Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic are transforming from traditional transit zones into destination markets for global talent. This shift is reshaping the region’s demographics, labor structures, and identity within the European Union. For decades, Central Europe was defined by outward migration, millions of workers heading west in search of higher wages.
